We are expanding and are seeking a skilled Operations Manager to join our team.

Cut Point Fluid Management is a privately owned Canadian company dedicated to delivering premium sediment management solutions every day.  Our team of skilled professionals utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and innovative techniques to ensure optimal performance and superior results. Whether you require sediment removal in lakes, rivers, ponds, or industrial facilities, we have the knowledge and resources to handle projects of any scale.

Position Overview

Direct all the daily operational aspects of his/ her branch, including staff and job scheduling, inventory management, customer service, communicate effectively with management and workers, assist management with financial performance by tracking key metrics and work with safety to ensure compliance with required legislation.

Key Responsibilities
(Including but not limited to)

  • Oversee all day-to-day business activities within the branch
  • Be fit for duty (not impaired, limit fatigue)
  • Seek appropriate applicants for branch positions
  • Complete bid packages 
  • Maintain contact with client representatives regarding upcoming and current work
  • Work with sales staff to seek new clients in their area
  • Participate in weekly sales and management meetings
  • Dispatch workers to site as required
  • Handle worker issues, disciplinary actions and near miss/ incident reports
  • Oversee mechanical services, equipment maintenance and repair
  • Work with dispatch to obtain required transport trip permits
  • Complete regular site tours and provide coaching to workers
  • Review field tickets and ensure correct and complete information is submitted to the office
  • Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner
  • Complete annual worker evaluations
  • Maintain parts inventory and order parts/ equipment as required
  • Complete or delegate shop/ office inspections as per policy (quarterly under 10 employees, monthly over 10 employees)
  • Participate in the safety program and all applicable safety initiatives
  • Assist safety with creation & maintenance of FHAs, SOPAs, SWPs and policies
  • Work with Safety to ensure worker training remains current
  • Maintain stock of PPE required
  • Lead by example
  • Provide Sales and Sales support within the territory of their location

Qualifications & Experience

  • Work well alone or with others
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Strong prioritizing, planning and organizational skills
  • Understands importance of confidentiality
  • High stress tolerance
  • Class 5 driver’s license minimum

Position Overview

Identify new business opportunities, build and maintain successful relationships with prospects and existing clients.  Collaborate with executives on business strategy to determine objectives, evaluate current business performance and maximize business reach and potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in company required safety initiatives
  • Participate in sales activities with existing and prospect clients
  • Network and build relationships
  • Project planning, development and execution
  • Maintain strong client communications
  • Manage customer service requirements
  • Build and present project presentations and proposals
  • Complete project estimates and bid packages as required
  • Attend weekly sales and marketing meetings
  • Build and submit weekly sales reports
  • Update and adhere to all related budgeting and projections
  • Assist with project billing and invoicing
